ZIGNAGO
Zignago (SP)

  Found on 29 December 1867 at Nova' in the town of Zignago (La Spezia).
The overall plan of this stelae seems to accentuate the character of the stone block, of a rectangular pilastre with the only face extracted from the upper piece, detached from the torso by a noticeable depression. It has a somewhat aged character, contrasting with the type of face, that instead is more advanced on the tipological scale what for its marked naturalistic character of the nose and the presence of the eyes in chalk.
In a purely hypothetical way, one could be reminded of a reelaboration of a previous older stelae or of a noteable variant to those belonging to Group C.

The inscription in Etruscan characters, dated circa the sixth century B.C. should also be noted :
