MINUCCIANO I Minucciano (LU)
Discovered in the autumn of 1964 along the road to the Sanctuary of the Madonna
del Soccorso in Minucciano.
It is headless, with an intentional crack below the shoulder line. This one also
carries an axe with more or less geometrical lines with a blade that appears to be
of stone.
The arms and hands are depicted very roughly. Instead, the triangular poignard with
intense corners, an average handle and neighboring side reinforcement, is easily
visible.
This statue must have been originally located at the height of the mountain pass, while instead
it was found a meter below, on the Minucciano side.
