12 settembre 2011 – Al via i lavori in Piazza dei Cavalieri
Al via questa mattina i lavori di riqualificazione di Piazza dei Cavalieri, il primo step prevede l’esplorazione archeologica dell’area, il 26 settembre l’avvio vero e proprio del primo cantiere.
I lavori si svilupperanno, come già abbiamo visto fare in Corso Italia, gradualmente, con singoli cantieri che porteranno a compimento sezioni dell’intervento per poi spostarsi, lasciando accessibile l’area ultimata.
La presentazione dei lavori è avvenuta ieri presso l’ufficio stampa del Comune, a illustrare quello che, vista l’eccezionalità dell’area interessata, è un intervento di importanza mondiale, erano presenti il Sindaco di Pisa Marco Filippeschi, l’Assessore ai lavori pubblici Andrea Serfogli,i tecnici responsabili delle diverse fasi del progetto e il direttore dei lavori Ing. Antonio Grasso.
Ad aprire la conferenza stampa è il Sindaco Filippeschi, “Alla fine dei lavori Pisa avrà la piazza recuperata e riqualificata all’altezza dei palazzi che la circondano e all’altezza della Piazza dei Miracoli” ha sottolineato il Sindaco, aggiungendo che “il percorso dalla stazione centrale al Duomo, dopo il rifacimento di Corso Italia e piazza Vittorio, trova oggi un altro decisivo tassello. Pisa è in movimento e la realizzazione dei 14 progetti Piuss lo stanno a testimoniare. Turismo e cultura si intrecciano anche nel recupero di Piazza dei Cavalieri”.
Il Progetto
Il Progetto prevede la pavimentazione dell’intera piazza, con un particolare disegno suddiviso in otto “spicchi” che convergono verso il centro, e che hanno la finalità di valorizzare prospetticamente le facciate degli edifici che si affacciano sulla Piazza. La lastricatura sarà realizzata in pietra “fiammata”, la stessa che possiamo vedere già sui laterali di Corso Italia.
Otto le fasi d’intervento previste, 450 i giorni di lavoro per il compimento dell’intera opera.
Per ogni singolo cantiere saranno rispettate le stesse fasi d’intervento,partendo dall’esplorazione archeologica preventiva, necessaria vista la particolarità dell’area che già in passato ha restituito reperti risalenti alle fasi più antiche della storia di Pisa, e vista l’importanza dell’area in età medioevale.
Gli otto “spicchi” saranno resi visibili attraverso degli inserti realizzati con pietra “d’epoca”, reperiti nei magazzini Comunali.
Prima della pavimentazione si realizzeranno una serie di sottoservizi: sarà rifatta la rete fognaria; disposto un impianto elettrico di servizio per eventuali manifestazioni che si svolgeranno nella piazza, con pozzetti di accesso agli allacci; predisposte canalizzazioni per la fibra ottica, predisposti i punti di installazione per i totem previsti nel progetto PIUSS “Percorsi Turistici”, predisposto l’impianto per la collocazione delle telecamere di videosorveglianza.
Prevista anche la riqualificazione dell’illuminazione, che utilizzerà la più moderna tecnologia a led a basso consumo energetico.
Oltre la Piazza, l’intervento interesserà anche via Consoli del Mare e le aree adiacenti la Chiesa di Santo Stefano, anche qui si realizzerà una rilastricatura in pietra arenaria, e si collocheranno cinque cassonetti interrati per la raccolta differenziata.
Un cantiere “sostenibile”
Molte le novità sulla tipologia di cantiere, si è infatti deciso di adottare particolari accorgimenti per rendere “sostenibile” l’intervento. La delimitazione dell’area dei lavori sarà infatti realizzata, cantiere per cantiere, con innovative pannellature costituite da materiale fonoassorbente, in grado di svolgere anche una funzione di barriera anti polvere. Le nuove recinzioni saranno poi dotate di pannelli solari, capaci di garantire l’autonomia energetica degli impianti utilizzati per l’esecuzione dei lavori. I cantieri saranno inoltre dotati di un sistema avanzato di monitoraggio delle emissioni sonore, per ridurne l’impatto. Le attrezzature utilizzate durante i lavori saranno tutte silenziate e a batteria, i mezzi per la movimentazione dei materiali avranno motori elettrici, tutti i mezzi cingolati prevedono l’utilizzo di sistemi “gommati” anti rumore. Diminuite le fasi d’intervento rispetto al progetto originario, si è passati infatti da 10 fasi d’intervento previste a 8, con una riduzione di 90 giorni dei tempi previsti.
Sequenza delle fasi di intervento
Gli otto cantieri si succederanno l’un l’altro nell’arco dei 450 giorni previsti per la realizzazione dell’intervento, tutti i lavori sono stati progettati cercando di ottimizzare i tempi e l’occupazione delle aree per contenere il disagio generato nell’esecuzione dei lavori.
I cantieri si svilupperanno seguendo un preciso ordine di avanzamento, si parte dal lato sud della Piazza, procedendo verso nord. Durante l’esecuzione dei lavori sarà comunque garantito l’accesso agli edifici pubblici e privati che si trovano nelle zone interessate.
Il primo cantiere che aprirà il 26 settembre, dopo l’esplorazione archeologica preventiva al via domani, occuperà la zona prospiciente il “Palazzo della Canonica”, più una porzione di “sterrato” compresa tra la chiesa di santo Stefano e i giardini della Piazza “Ulisse Dini”, la durata prevista è di 80 giorni,e si concluderà entro fine aprile.
Il secondo cantiere interesserà invece l’area compresa tra il Collegio Puteano e il Palazzo del Consiglio dei Dodici, comprendendo anche l’area centrale (quella che ospiterà il tondo che segna il centro della Piazza); Un secondo cantiere parallelo si svilupperà invece sul retro della Piazza Ulisse Dini. La durata prevista è di 114 giorni.
Con il terzo cantiere si passa alla parte Nord della Piazza, nell’area prospiciente la torre dell’orologio e una prima porzione del Palazzo della Carovana. Sempre in parallelo si procederà anche sul retro della Chiesa di Santo Stefano. La durata prevista per il terzo cantiere è di 71 giorni.
Il Quarto cantiere completerà la pavimentazione prospiciente al Palazzo della Carovana, in contemporanea si porteranno a compimento gli interventi sul retro della Chiesa dei Cavalieri. La durata è prevista in 52 giorni.
Il quinto cantiere interesserà invece l’area prospiciente la Chiesa di Santo Stefano, con una durata programmata di 25 giorni, e consentirà di vedere completata la Piazza nel suo insieme.
Con i restanti tre cantieri si vanno a concludere gli interventi che riguardano prevalentemente la via Consoli del Mare e le aree limitrofe alla Chiesa di Santo Stefano.
