The Celtic sword of the
Hallstatt Museum

(Copyright Prahistorisches Museum, Hallstatt, Austria)

Bronze sword with curved-antennae pommel, from tomb 11/1889 of the necropolis of Hallstatt (sixth century B.C.).
The sheath is also in metal. The metallic element on the sword which protects the hand and the sheath are decorated with impressions of small concentric circles ; the same motif often found on the ceramics from the Iron Age.
