CASOLA
(MS)
Found on 18 December 1964 by a
motorcyclist traveling on the state route 445 between Casola and Vigneta, in the
locality of Nibbiara. From the formal creation of the rigidly quasi-rectangular
outline and from the chalk eyes one can propose it being one of the latest of
group A. The poignard has a convex, triangular blade with a simple, near face ;
the grip has a half-disk pommel.
It was found near a cave of sedimentary stone near which it was also produced.
It is easy to note that it is more of a stelae than a statue : it is only a
square block upon which a weak anthropomorphic pattern was continued.
In the immediate vicinity, a pyramidal deposit of flint, used for blade-making,
was found
